I’m no car expert or a professional photographer but I do have a passion for both. Being around people who are in a flow state of mind, you can’t help but be inspired.

Pit lane is like being in an ocean of flow. This is what I love about being there. Everywhere you look, shit is getting done. It’s also a great spot to see the cars up close and you don’t need a media pass either. You just need to be in the right place at the right time.

I’ve been extremely lucky the past few years as DownshiftAus provided me with a couple of media passes over the years. In 2019, it was like I won the lotto. I got a media pass as Mtrvtd! I’m so grateful to have had that experience.

My first year on the other side of the fence was 2016 and I’ll never forget it. I was a little nervous around pit lane and kept thinking that just being there I was in the way. But it was totally cool. I respected their space and I wasn’t asked to leave. Happy days!

Like I said I’m no pro. All I wanted to do was to capture the people behind the machines.

Having a media pass is amazing but not essential. In some ways, it almost blinds me by being so close. I literally miss the bigger picture, which is partly why I like to keep switching sides of the fence. Also because I need to keep moving and change the scenery.

So here’s an insight from the garages and pit lane at WTAC 2019
